Nassau's Most Memorable Wedding Venues

Every bride yearns for the most unique and exclusive wedding. Venues play an important role in making the wedding a special occasion. Whether it's a traditional or unconventional, everyone is looking for ideas to make the best day of their life memorable forever.

CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL

If you desire a traditionally elegant wedding, consider Christ Church Cathedral. Built in 1841, the present edifice is the fifth church that has occupied this spot. Along the walls, tablets trace the trials Nassau citizens endured over 150 years ago. Be sure to look at the baptismal font at the back of the sanctuary. There you will see the hallmark of its British carpenter, a tiny church mouse carved into the wood. The Lord Proprietors built the original building in 1670, making it the first church built in The Islands Of The Bahamas.

BRITISH COLONIAL HILTON NASSAU

If you are considering a less conventional wedding, but still want the elegance and old world charm that Nassau is know for, the British Colonial Hilton may be for you. The ideal combination of regal elegance and contemporary style, the British Colonial Hilton Nassau captures the unique ambiance and stunning beauty of The Bahamas.

THE CLOISTERS

If you are considering a garden wedding, plan a visit to the Cloisters. A popular site for weddings, this 14th century remains of the French Monastery built by Augustinian monks, is located on Ocean Drive overlooking the Nassau Harbour. This edifice was constructed out of stone, and is one of four to ever be removed from French soil. It was originally purchased and imported to the US by newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst and later bought by Huntington Hartford and brought to the Paradise Island, Bahamas.

GRAYCLIFF HOTEL

If fine cuisine is a requirement, the Graycliff hotel may be ideal, The elegant, graceful setting of Graycliff is the ideal venue for a romantic wedding, no matter whether the guest list numbers 3 or 300. The beautiful 18th century mansion with its lush tropical gardens and the jewel-like colors of the forested pools are the perfect backdrop for that very special day. The five-star Graycliff hotel and restaurant offers wedding packages to suit a variety of tastes, from the simple but elegant, to the joyously pampered celebrations that bring friends and family together. Bridal couples may design their own celebration, or choose from one of the packages offered by Graycliff. The hotel’s wedding co-coordinator is expert at setting up events with special attention to detail, taking care of the smallest requests and guiding the couple towards a very successful wedding ceremony and reception.

FORT CHARLOTTE

If your ideal venue must incorporate old world charm, a garden feel and a spectacular view; the historic Fort Charlotte with it's 360 degree view will blow you away. This 18th century military complex is located on a high ridge running parallel to West Bay Street. Fort Charlotte, constructed during the governorship of Lord Dunmore, was named in honor of the wife of King George III.  There are actually three forts: Fort Charlotte, the eastern section, Fort Stanley, the middle section and Fort D’Arcy, the western section. The building of the forts, out of solid rock, was begun in 1787 and completed in 1819. A dry moat surrounds Fort Charlotte and is spanned by a wooden bridge on the north side.

I just recently exchanged vows on this very sight in a sunrise ceremony. It was attended by 120 of our closest friends and family. The view and atmosphere was so enchanting, and so many pictures were taken, our wedding was trending on social media for almost a week.
